I gave because someone once gave me a chance I didn't know I deserved.
"I gave because someone once gave me a chance I didn't know I deserved."
Priya grew up in a government school in Dwarka where her teachers often didn't show up. A scholarship from a small local NGO got her through Class 12, and she eventually became the first woman in her family to hold a corporate job. Today she sponsors two girls through Beti Ki Udaan every year. 'I don't know those girls yet,' she says, 'but I know what it feels like when the world decides you are worth investing in.' She has never met them in person, but she writes them letters through the foundation's mentorship channel. 'I want them to know this isn't charity. It's a chain. Someone held my hand. Now I hold theirs.'
